At Pine Belt Chevrolet in Lakewood, we don’t need anyone to tell us how great Chevy vehicles are. We wouldn’t be selling them if we weren’t already confident that our cars are among the highest-performing and most reliable on the road. Even so, it’s always nice when our favorite automaker gets some recognition. That’s why we’re proud to announce that for the second year in a row, Edmunds.com and Parents magazine have named the Chevy Traverse to its 10 Best Family Cars of the year list!
As a parent, one of your primary concerns is most likely safety, and the 2014 Traverse sets the bar high in that regard. One of only two SUVs to earn “10 Best” list honors, the Traverse earned a 5-star rating in government crash testing, with top marks in front and side protection. All Traverse models come standard with safety features including a rearview camera and full-length side airbags for all three rows of seating, as well as optional forward collision alert. The Traverse is also the only SUV in its segment to feature a front seat center airbag that provides additional protection during a collision.
“Traverse’s winning combination blends the capability and roominess of a traditional SUV with the attributes of a crossover, including a car-like driving experience, low step-in height and good efficiency on the highway,” said Steve Majoros, marketing director of Chevrolet cars and crossovers, in a statement.
Another factor in the Traverse’s selection was its wide array of family-oriented luxury features. This year’s Traverse comes equipped with a rear entertainment system, multiple USB ports and a three-person third row bench.

Last year, the 2014 Chevrolet Impala received rave reviews for its improvements in style, gas mileage and performance. All those qualities are back and more in the new 2015 Impala, which was announced last month and will become available later this summer.
The new Impala will come with a base 2.5-liter, four-cylinder engine and will boast popular stop-start technology, which automatically shuts off the vehicle’s engine when stopped. The feature has been common among hybrid vehicles for a while, but Chevy has led the way in including it with its non-hybrid cars, first on the 2014 Malibu and now the 2015 Impala. With the stop-start feature, the EPA-estimated gas mileage has improved to 22 mpg city for the base engine, and the highway mileage remains an impressive 31 mpg.
Need to finish up some work or send an email on the road? The 2015 Impala will also come equipped with 4G LTE connectivity, so you can surf the web on the go with a built-in WiFi hotspot. Chevy is the first automaker to ever include WiFi hotspot functionality on its cars, trucks and crossovers, and it’s a standard feature for the new Impala.
You can get all of these features and more with the 2015 Chevy Impala, and we can’t wait to showcase this vehicle on our lot later this summer. Visit our Lakewood, NJ Chevrolet dealership for more details, or to test-drive another exciting Chevy model!
