Concept cars allow designers to really strut their stuff. With the reigns of commercial viability thrown off, the artists behind the sporty-but-practical looks of vehicles like the Chevrolet Camaro can show what they’re truly made of. Last week at the Shanghai Auto Show, Chevrolet debuted a concept that took futuristic design to a whole new level, creating the kind of vehicle that makes onlookers wish it was more science than fiction. Called the FNR, it explored what a car that required no driver might look like in the not-so-far-away future where vehicles are entirely autonomous.
We’ve always said that when you visit Pine Belt Chevrolet, you’re sure to get an outstanding customer experience. But that’s just a claim — one a lot of dealerships make without anything to back it up. Well, we’re incredibly proud to announce that we have been honored by DealerRater.com with one of their inaugural Consumer Satisfaction Awards for the excellent reviews our lovely customers have left us on their web site. This is a huge credit to every single member of our sales, financing and service teams, and we couldn’t be more proud of them and all of their hard work.
In order to qualify for a Consumer Satisfaction Award, dealerships must have gotten at least 25 reviews in 2014 with an average rating of 4.0 or higher. Of those, the top 10 percent receive the award. Pine Belt Chevrolet can say that, across more than 650 total reviews, we have an average score of 4.8 out of 5 and 98 percent of people would recommend us! Those numbers are truly humbling, and we’re thrilled not just to win this award, but to have made so many people in New Jersey happy for so long. Most of all, we’re thankful that so many of you have taken the time to leave your feedback with sites like DealerRater. This feedback in invaluable to us, as it helps us continue to grow and serve our community even better in the future.
This isn’t even the first time around the block for the Pine Belt Chevrolet team — back in 2013, we won one of DealerRater’s Dealer of the Year Awards for general excellence! The specific Consumer Satisfaction Award is brand new, but we definitely hope our continued dedication to service means our first won’t be our last.
Thanks again from everyone at Pine Belt Chevrolet!
2014 was, to put it mildly, a good year for the Chevrolet Corvette. Back in August, we told you how those who buy a Corvette were more satisfied with their purchase than buyers of any other vehicle, and in October we were stunned when the 2015 Corvette Z06 went from 0 to 60 in 2.6 seconds, the best time for any production car Chevy has ever tested. Overall, Corvette sales in 2014 skyrocketed an incredible 114%, with more than 31,000 vehicles sold. It’s only fitting, then, that to cap of such a big year and ring in the next, the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray was named Business Insider’s Car of the Year.
This is the first time Business Insider has given this award, and they wanted to make a big statement with their choice. “The bottom line is that we wanted our first-ever Car of the Year to be an amazing machine when it comes to the nuts-and-bolts part of the story,” wrote Matthew Debord and Benjamin Zhang in the announcement. “It had to look cool and be a blast to drive. And because Business Insider is, after all, a business publication, we decided that the COTY should be significant for the auto industry — it couldn’t be a niche product that appeals only to enthusiasts with millions to spend on exotic hypercars. ”
The Corvette Stingray met all those expectations and more. The publication praised the sports car’s stylish, sleek looks inside and out, its cutting-edge technology and, of course, its incredible engine options. Plus, the Corvette is a fraction of the price of similarly-equipped models. It’s the most affordable way to get the kind of power and head-turning good looks speed enthusiasts really want.
At the end of the day, though, what sealed the deal for the 2015 Corvette Stingray was that it is just plain fun to drive. “2014 was the year that the new Corvette Stingray topped everybody with the fun factor,” the Debord and Zhang note.

If your New Year’s resolution is to buy a new car, why not go for one of the safest models on the road? Four of our best-selling Chevy models have been named to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s (IIHS) list of Top Safety Picks for 2015, and we couldn’t be more proud! Now the Chevrolet Spark, Volt, Malibu and Equinox will be known for even more than their unique styling, eco-friendly performances and spirited dynamics — they’ll also make waves as some of the safest cars available today.
To be recognized as one of the IIHS’s Top Safety Picks, a vehicle must achieve a “good” rating in the moderate overlap front, side, roof-strength and head-restraint tests, as well as a good or “acceptable” rating in the small-overlap front test. The Chevy Volt and Spark each received an “acceptable” rating on their small-overlap front tests, while the Chevrolet Malibu and Equinox achieved the higher “good” rating.
“Consumer metric programs such as IIHS Top Safety Pick and NHTSA NCAP provide our customers with information to make comparisons across vehicle manufacturers for a given market segment. Having these four vehicles named 2015 IIHS Top Safety Picks is a great achievement,” said Jeff Boyer, GM vice president of Global Vehicle Safety.
Chevrolet’s outstanding host of standard safety features helped each of these vehicles to achieve this coveted designation. Equipped with a winning combination of rollover sensors, electronic stability control, antilock brakes and daytime running lights, as well as plenty of airbags, the Volt, Spark, Malibu and Chevy Equinox can all offer you plenty of protection as you take on the Garden State’s busy roads.

The competition for pickup-truck bragging rights is fierce, with all of the major players constantly trying to outdo each other in every metric, from fuel economy to towing capacity to available features. This year, a new combatant entered the ring: the 2015 Chevrolet Colorado, a small pickup designed for practical day-to-day use that still could be segued into real working situations. The Colorado offers so much, in fact, that is beat out the favored Ford F-150 for one of the highest pickup-truck honors, the 2015 Motor Trend Truck of the Year award!
“After days of testing, hundreds of miles on the road and our most rigorous truck testing program to date, our editors unanimously selected the Chevy Colorado as our 2015 Truck of the Year,” said Edward Loh, Motor Trend’s editor-in-chief. “Colorado is a smart, capable and refreshingly honest truck that makes a strong value and efficiency statement. It’s perfectly sized and suited for the needs of many of today’s truck users.”
All of the trucks up for the award were put through a trying gauntlet of tasks and measures across six comprehensive categories: design advancement, engineering excellence, efficiency, safety, value and performance of intended function. The Colorado was so impressive it was selected for the title unanimously, wowing every judge on the panel.
“A lot of our staff fell in love with that pickup,” said Loh. “It’s the thinking man’s kind of pickup.”
The 2015 Colorado’s exterior has a sleek, stylish look that differentiates the latest iteration of this model from the squarer, more traditional facades of large Chevy pickup trucks. Inside, the Colorado features a luxury-like feel focused on comfort and technology. A rear-vision camera is standard, and upgrade options include collision alert, lane departure warning, 4G LTE Wi-Fi and the Chevy MyLink infotainment system. The powerful engine options will let you tow up to 7,000 pounds, giving the 2015 Colorado the most towing power in its class.
See what made all of the experts swoon. Come try out the 2015 Motor Trend Truck of the year today at our Chevrolet dealership in Lakewood, NJ!
It’s every busy office worker’s worst nightmare: you go to send an email with an important document, and nothing happens. You hear a scream. The corporate office has become inaccessible. People poke their heads in and out of each other’s offices, asking the dreaded question to which they already, in their hearts, know the answer: Is the internet down? As the panic subsides and that particularly modern brand of helplessness sets in, you are left to wonder: What are you to do when the entirety of your dealership depends upon constant connection? Well, if you work at a Chevrolet dealership, the answer to that question seems to be, “Fire up the Chevy Volt!”
A few weeks ago, when a lack of internet left workers at a suburban Detroit Chevrolet dealership unable to do things like update their inventories and process lease payments, one of the salespeople had a revelation. Several of the floor models at their dealership were equipped with the new 4G LTE hot spot feature, including one that didn’t need traditional fuel to run: the 2015 Chevy Volt. Employee Matthew Oleszczuk powered up a Volt, put it into accessory mode, and plugged it in. He set up the mobile hot spot through OnStar, and within a half hour almost everyone was back online. A 2015 Chevy Malibu was later added on to help out another department.
“We were laughing because the signal was as strong or stronger than when we’re running our internal network,” Oleszczuk told InsideEVs.com. “One lady asked why the Volt was on, and we told her that our land line was down and the 4G connection was keeping our network going. She thought that was pretty impressive.”
Chevrolet announced the availability of 4G LTE hot spots in its models at the beginning of the year, and started rolling them out over the summer. This innovative technology allows you to get online at the highest speeds no matter where you are, whether you’re using a laptop or a mobile device. The wireless availability makes many new things possible, including keeping an entire office online.

Yes, you read that correctly: the 2015 Corvette Z06 has clocked in at under 3 seconds in the 0-to-60 time test, making it the fastest car ever sold by GM. On top of that, the beloved sports car completed a quarter-mile sprint in just 10.95 seconds, topping out at a speed of 127 mph. For the safety-conscious among us, the car can also come to a stop from 60 mph in just 99.6 feet, which GM says is the best for any production car it has ever tested.
“The Corvette has long been known as America’s sports car,” said GM executive vice president Mark Reuss. “With the capability of the new Z06 rivaling the best performance cars in the world, we will also be America’s Supercar.”
The Corvette is powerful, fast car any day, and the Z06 is the high-performance model of the Corvette, meaning it’s the best of the best. The Z06 that put up these exhilarating numbers was a coupe equipped with an 8-speed automatic transmission and the Z07 performance package, which nets the car add-ons such as Brembo carbon-ceramic brake rotors and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires. Under the hood was a supercharged LT4 small-block V-8 engine that boasts an incredible 650 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque. With that kind of power, it’s not hard to believe the 2015 Corvette can put up such big (well, little) numbers, but this year’s Corvette is also heavier than past models, making it all the more impressive.
The 2015 Chevrolet Corvette comes in several body styles, with the Z06 being the top of the line. Also available are the Stingray Coupe and Stingray Convertible, each of which comes in a myriad of trims so that speed enthusiasts may customize their Corvette to best suit their tastes and needs. A 6.2-liter V8 DI engine that generates 455 horsepower and produces 460 pound-feet of torque comes standard on all Stingray models.
The 2015 Corvette Z06 will be hitting dealerships in early 2015, but the Stingray models are on lots now. To get a taste of the power and speed offered by these one-of-a-kind cars, visit our Lakewood, NJ Chevrolet dealership and test-drive one today!
The Chevrolet Corvette is one of the most recognizable car model names out there, so it stands to reason that expectations would be pretty high for buyers of the vehicle. Add to that the undeniable passion that sports car enthusiasts have for the vehicles they love so much and one might think Corvette buyers were being set up for disappointment. After all, can something so high-profile really live up to all the hype? It turns out that, in the case of the Corvette, it certainly can!
The results of a new survey released by market-research firm AutoPacific found that buyers of the Chevy Corvette are more satisfied with their purchases than buyers of any other car or SUV. Purchasers were asked after their first 90 days of ownership to report on their feelings about 15 different areas of performance, including things like power, acceleration, and comfort. When the results came in, new Corvette owners were the ones with the fewest complaints about their new vehicle.
With so many features and so much power, it’s not hard to see why people are so happy with their Corvette. The completely-redesigned seventh-generation 2015 model ups the ante yet again. The 2015 Corvette Z06 will feature a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine that will produce 650 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque. A seven-speed manual transmission is standard, with the option of an eight-speed manual, and of course there is a convertible body style available.
The 2015 Corvette will arrive at dealerships later this year, and it looks to be very much worth the wait. In the meantime, stay tuned to our blog and be sure to visit our Lakewood, NJ Chevy dealership for all of your Chevrolet needs, including sales of 2014 Corvette cars and other model years. Test-drive this incredible car today, and see for yourself what’s making everyone so happy!
When it comes to safety, the results are in, and the 2014 Chevy Volt blows all competition out of the water. Chevrolet’s plug-in hybrid has earned the highest safety honor given out the by IIHS, the Top Safety Pick + award. Of the 12 cars in its class tested, the Volt was the only one to receive this award. The is especially good news for those concerned about the safety of greener cars like the Nissan Leaf, which was given a “Poor” rating in the same tests. The Volt even earned the second-highest rating in the incredibly challenging small front-overlap crash test that the IIHS considers the most difficult crash test done anywhere.
This is a particularly big accomplishment because the 2014 Volt was designed before the small front-overlap test was even introduced, meaning it had taken into account this kind of safety without the added pressure of passing tests. Future Volt models designed specifically with the test in mind should fare even better in an area where most small cars have been struggling just to be rated “Acceptable”.
Aside from being the only small car to earn the Top Safety Pick + award, the 2014 Chevrolet Volt was the only vehicle that featured technology that sought to prevent the crashes from happening in the first place. The collision warning system alerts drivers when it detects an imminent frontal collision, while the automatic breaking engages without the driver needing to react when a crash is about to happen. Both of these features helped the Volt avoid the worst of the situations it was tested in and come out on top. As always, the best way to be safe is to stop the crash from happening in the first place, and the safety features on the Volt have clearly set the bar for preventative medicine.
If safety and efficiency are on your new-car checklist, the 2014 Chevy Volt is the ideal pick. With its myriad of safety and tech features and sleek, stylish design, it’s a hard car to beat by any metric. Pay a visit to our Lakewood, NJ Chevrolet dealership to test-drive this great car yourself!
The big news in Chevrolet today is huge: GM’s 2015 Order Guide has been updated, and the new features listed for the 2015 Chevrolet SS are exactly what Chevy enthusiasts have been asking for. The marquee upgrade is the option of a manual transmission (although it appears the automatic will be standard), but the car will also include Magnetic Selective Ride Control, OnStar 4G LTE, and twice as many color options as the previous model.
The Magnetic Selective Ride Control brings to the new Chevrolet SS one of GM’s most forward-thinking feature adaptations. This suspension system uses magnetic shock absorbers that adjust based on the driving surface to imbue the car with a ride smoother than ever before, one without any small moving parts that can wear out or need to be replaced.
The exact specs of the 6-speed manual transmission aren’t yet known. It is reasonable, though, to assume it will mirror the same option in similar GM sports cars, particularly the Australian Holden Commodore, on which the SS is modeled.
Although details about exterior upgrades have not been released (pictures only display a redesigned front license plate bracket), we can be sure that the car will have twice as many paint options as before. The snazzily named new colors in the SS palette are Regal Peacock Green, Some Like It Hot Red, Jungle Green Metallic, Perfect Blue, and Alchemy Purple. These come in addition to the already-available colors Silver Ice Metallic, Red Hot 2, Phantom Black Metallic, Heron White, and Mystic Green.
As more information about the 2015 Chevrolet SS becomes available to the public, you can be sure we here at Pine Belt Chevrolet will keep you up-to-date on the newest developments. Head on down to your local New Jersey Chevrolet dealership for all of the info you need on new Chevy cars!
