Eventually, you’ll need to sell your current vehicle. And whether it’s three, five or even ten or more years from now, you’ll want to have a vehicle that’s held its value and can help you recoup your investment. That’s why each year, Kelley Blue Book puts out a list of the vehicles with the best resale value: those which are made of high-quality parts and materials that stand the test of time. We’re proud to say that for 2015, Subaru has won the award for overall brand with the best residual value, plus three individual awards in the compact, midsized and sporty compact car categories.
KBB.com praised Subaru for its versatility, wide appeal and value. “The Subaru appeal — smart ultra-practicality combined with one of the best low-traction all-wheel-drive systems around — wins fandom with new-car buyers and when resale time comes,” they write in their overview. KBB.com also notes the stellar sales Subaru has had over the past year, as it set sales records that have been unrivalled by the brand in decades and in some cases, as we’ve covered, ever. 2014 also marked a year in which every vehicle in the Subaru lineup was an IIHS Top Safety Pick.
KBB.com also gives individual awards to vehicles across a variety of categories, and there Subaru again made a distinct impression. The 2015 Subaru Impreza won for best compact car, where its value and fuel efficiency were cited as saving money at the beginning, middle and end of its lifespan. The midsized car award went to the 2015 Subaru Legacy, a car whose new-model-year redesign has been making waves since its debut. Finally, the 2015 Subaru WRX saw a win in the sporty compact car category, where its long list of standard features and impressive engine shot it ahead of the competition. Subaru also saw a second-place win in the hybrid SUV/crossover category for the 2015 Subaru XV Crosstrek Hybrid.

Winter is in full swing, and for the adventurous among us, that means it’s time for some serious seasonal fun. There are no better vehicles to valiantly take you through the snowy mountainscapes of wintertime than those made by Jeep, and in this spirit Jeep has returned for the twelfth year in a row as the official automotive sponsor of the X-Games. Starting this Thursday, extreme athletes will trek to Aspen, CO, to show what they’re made of in some of the harshest conditions and most awe-inspiring sporting events. From flying through the air on snowboards to racing down steep slopes on skis and so much more, the daredevils of the X-Games take sports to another level.
To celebrate the athletes themselves, as well as the continued partnership between Jeep and the X-Games, Jeep has released a special promotional ad for the 2015 Wrangler X-Edition.Playing on the idea of a “polar vortex,” the ad depicts a snowy tornado, the formation of which has baffled experts. We slowly zoom in to the great white landscape to see at the heart of the cycle a Jeep Wrangler X-Edition doing donuts in the snow. It comes to a stop and the vortex dissipates, leaving behind the pristine vehicle and two thrilled passengers.
“We wanted to mark the Jeep brand’s 12th year as the X Games Aspen official automobile sponsor by putting our own unique ‘spin’ on this year’s event by celebrating the joy of the athletes who perform in extreme weather conditions and the vehicles that take them there,” said Olivier Francois, Chief Marketing Officer for FCA Global. “Whatever the cause behind the Polar Vortex, fans attending this year’s games will have the opportunity to come out on top of it, too, experiencing the event like never-before […].”
Jeep will be all over the X-Games, providing transportation up and down the Aspen landscape, sponsoring events such as autograph signings and, perhaps best of all, a giant snow sculpture of a Wrangler will be on view for all to see.
Check out the ad below, and if you’re looking for the best vehicles to help you be ready for whatever nature throws your way this winter, visit our Jeep dealership in Lakewood, NJ, and test-drive a Jeep vehicle today!
2014 was, to put it mildly, a good year for the Chevrolet Corvette. Back in August, we told you how those who buy a Corvette were more satisfied with their purchase than buyers of any other vehicle, and in October we were stunned when the 2015 Corvette Z06 went from 0 to 60 in 2.6 seconds, the best time for any production car Chevy has ever tested. Overall, Corvette sales in 2014 skyrocketed an incredible 114%, with more than 31,000 vehicles sold. It’s only fitting, then, that to cap of such a big year and ring in the next, the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray was named Business Insider’s Car of the Year.
This is the first time Business Insider has given this award, and they wanted to make a big statement with their choice. “The bottom line is that we wanted our first-ever Car of the Year to be an amazing machine when it comes to the nuts-and-bolts part of the story,” wrote Matthew Debord and Benjamin Zhang in the announcement. “It had to look cool and be a blast to drive. And because Business Insider is, after all, a business publication, we decided that the COTY should be significant for the auto industry — it couldn’t be a niche product that appeals only to enthusiasts with millions to spend on exotic hypercars. ”
The Corvette Stingray met all those expectations and more. The publication praised the sports car’s stylish, sleek looks inside and out, its cutting-edge technology and, of course, its incredible engine options. Plus, the Corvette is a fraction of the price of similarly-equipped models. It’s the most affordable way to get the kind of power and head-turning good looks speed enthusiasts really want.
At the end of the day, though, what sealed the deal for the 2015 Corvette Stingray was that it is just plain fun to drive. “2014 was the year that the new Corvette Stingray topped everybody with the fun factor,” the Debord and Zhang note.

If your New Year’s resolution is to buy a new car, why not go for one of the safest models on the road? Four of our best-selling Chevy models have been named to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s (IIHS) list of Top Safety Picks for 2015, and we couldn’t be more proud! Now the Chevrolet Spark, Volt, Malibu and Equinox will be known for even more than their unique styling, eco-friendly performances and spirited dynamics — they’ll also make waves as some of the safest cars available today.
To be recognized as one of the IIHS’s Top Safety Picks, a vehicle must achieve a “good” rating in the moderate overlap front, side, roof-strength and head-restraint tests, as well as a good or “acceptable” rating in the small-overlap front test. The Chevy Volt and Spark each received an “acceptable” rating on their small-overlap front tests, while the Chevrolet Malibu and Equinox achieved the higher “good” rating.
“Consumer metric programs such as IIHS Top Safety Pick and NHTSA NCAP provide our customers with information to make comparisons across vehicle manufacturers for a given market segment. Having these four vehicles named 2015 IIHS Top Safety Picks is a great achievement,” said Jeff Boyer, GM vice president of Global Vehicle Safety.
Chevrolet’s outstanding host of standard safety features helped each of these vehicles to achieve this coveted designation. Equipped with a winning combination of rollover sensors, electronic stability control, antilock brakes and daytime running lights, as well as plenty of airbags, the Volt, Spark, Malibu and Chevy Equinox can all offer you plenty of protection as you take on the Garden State’s busy roads.
